Kabuki is a classic Japanese Dance-Drama which is well known for the elaborate make up that is worn by some of the actors.
Kabuki is sometimes referred to as the art of singing and dancing due to the Kanji characters used when written in Japanese.
Kabuki has a long tradition, dating back from the 1600s, in Kyoto and originally was very popular in the Red Light districts. Kabuki is still performed today, appearing not only in it's traditional style, but also in contemporary culture such as Anime.
